First Quarter Provider All-Star Award Winners for 2026

At Carina Health Network, we know that success in value-based care relies on strong collaboration, accurate documentation, and a shared commitment to improving patient outcomes. We’re excited to announce our Provider All-Star Award winner for the first quarter of 2026. This quarterly recognition is for outstanding providers who work for our member community health organizations and go above and beyond in coding accuracy, engagement, and teamwork with our Value-Based Coding Advisors (VBCAs).

Congratulations to Our Q1 Provider All-Star Award Winners!

What is the Provider All-Star Award?

This award celebrates providers who exemplify superior communication, collaboration, and coding practices. Each quarter, providers who meet the highest standards in HCC recapture and coding excellence will be nominated by their VBCA for this special recognition.

Award recipients are those who:

✅ Accept most, if not all, code recommendations from VBCAs during audits.
✅ Respond to messages to ensure accurate condition coding.
✅ Demonstrate continuous improvement in coding after receiving feedback.
✅ Update problem lists and patient information based on documentation best practices.
✅ Seek out training and proactively engage with VBCAs on coding questions.
✅ Review and respond to chart audits with a learning mindset.

How Are Winners Selected?

Each quarter, Carina VBCAs nominate providers who have demonstrated excellence in these areas. The Risk Adjustment & Quality Team will then vote to determine the winners, ensuring a fair and comprehensive selection process.

A provider can be nominated multiple times but can only win once per calendar year. If no providers are nominated in a given quarter, the award will not be issued.

Why This Matters

Accurate coding doesn’t just impact financial performance; it ensures that patients’ health conditions are fully and correctly represented. By honoring providers who actively engage in best practices, we’re strengthening our commitment to high-quality, value-based care.
